IRISH VALLEY

IRISH VALLEY

Colored Pencil on Toned Paper

Valleys with castles in Ireland combine stunning glacier-carved natural landscapes with overlapping layers of history from prehistoric megaliths to Anglo-Norman military power.  These estates historically control fertile agricultural land, natural river routes for transport, and served as strategic vantage points. The lighting illuminating this particular valley cast depth thru its shadows upon the stone and the rolling landscape.
